- Education:Mr. Shearer obtained his Juris Doctor of Law Degree from the Delaware Law School of Widener University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1976. While serving in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1972 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Mr. Shearer attended and obtained his Masters of Business Administration Degree from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Mr. Shearer’s undergraduate work was completed at Rider College, Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Mr Shearer obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Rider College in 1968.
- Licenses:Mr. Shearer was admitted to the Bar of New Jersey in June, 1977, and has been practicing law in New Jersey for over 34 years.
Experience:Mr. Shearer commenced the private practice of law in June, 1977, after being admitted to the New Jersey Bar. Simultaneously with opening his private practice, Mr. Shearer was employed with the Ocean County Board of Social Services. During his tenure with the Ocean County Board of Social Services, Mr. Shearer served in the position of Board Counsel overseeing a legal department of 3 attorneys and a clerical staff of 8 secretaries. Mr. Shearer is thoroughly versed in all aspects of the Medicaid program having provided legal counsel to the Medicaid department of the agency during his tenure as Board Counsel. Mr. Shearer’s responsibilities included the supervision of the Adult Protective Service Program for elderly adults in Ocean County, New Jersey. Mr. Shearer also represented the Executive Board of the Ocean County Board of Social Services and provided general legal advice to all departments of the agency. During the period 1986 through 1991, Mr. Shearer served as the Municipal Prosecutor for the Borough of Pine Beach, Ocean County, New Jersey. In February, 1992, Mr. Shearer was appointed by the Borough Council of the Borough of Pine Beach to the position of Judge of the Municipal Court. Mr. Shearer served in such capacity as Judge of the Municipal Court through 1996.In 1999, Mr. Shearer retired from his position at the Ocean County Board of Social Services after 31 years of service. He continues the full-time practice of law in his private practice presently located in Beachwood, New Jersey.
